OrthoGrace Dental

At OrthoGrace Dental, we continue to learn every day. New materials and techniques allow us to offer a wide range of treatments, and updated technology streamlines many of the procedures we perform.

We have chosen to invest in technology that has been proven to make dental visits more efficient, comfortable, and productive. Technology also plays a part in helping you understand your dental needs so you can make confident decisions about your care.

Please take a moment to browse through some of the technology we use, then give us a call so you can visit us and take a tour!

Digital X-Rays

We use digital x-rays because they allow us to see deep inside your tooth to identify problems that can’t be seen during a visual exam. In many cases, dental problems start under the gums or deep inside teeth. Digital x-ray images help us find them when they are still small and easy to treat.

Digital x-rays are different from the traditional x-rays you may remember. Digital sensors with rounded corners fit comfortably in your mouth, making the process fast and easy. In a few moments, we can project the image onto a chairside monitor so you can see exactly what we see. Understanding for yourself what the problem is helps you see clearly why treatment is necessary and how it will benefit your long-term oral health.

One important reason we choose digital x-rays is that they produce about 95% less radiation than films. We can also refer to the images quickly and send them electronically to your insurance provider or specialists when necessary.

Panoramic Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays give us a lot of information, but sometimes we need to see an image of your entire mouth. Digital panoramic x-rays produce a single highly detailed, two-dimensional image of your teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding bone and tissues. Since they’re also digital, they minimize your radiation exposure significantly.

Taking a panoramic x-ray is easy. We do not need to use film or sensors in your mouth because panoramic x-rays are extraoral (outside the mouth). This technology is particularly useful for young children or adults who cannot tolerate x-rays taken inside the mouth.

Intraoral Cameras

Do you ever wonder what the doctor sees when they perform an exam? We believe it is important for our patients to be educated about their oral health. That is why we have chosen to invest in intraoral (inside the mouth) cameras, a device that helps your doctor see in great detail what’s happening in your mouth.

We use intraoral cameras mainly because Dr. Medellin can project the images directly onto your chairside monitor. Since the camera also lights up the inside of your mouth,  you can both clearly see what the problem is and why you need treatment.

Intraoral cameras are a great diagnostic tool for your doctor, but they also allow you to be an active part of your oral health care. We have found that patients who understand their dental needs are more likely to be proactive, which results in better oral health.

TVs in Treatment Rooms

High-quality dental care includes providing you with everything you need to have a pleasant experience with us. We have found that, for both kids and adults, distraction is a valuable tool that takes the stress out of visits so you can relax and we can attend to your dental needs.

We are pleased to offer our patients the benefit of flat-screen smart TVs in all our treatment rooms. You will be able to sit back during your treatment in one of our comfortable chairs with a warm blanket and pillow while you watch your favorite programming on Netflix. Of course, you are always welcome to bring your favorite music or podcasts to listen to on your smartphone!
